Radio flayed for ignoring public issues

VEHARI-The local people have flayed the radio administration for forecasting Indian music and ignoring the local issues.
They said that the FM99 radio, which started its transmission in 2003, violates the rules set by the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra).
Listeners including Akhter Nadeem said that all the informative programmes had been closed while only Indian music and advertisements could be heart on the radio.
Under the Pemra Regulations 2012, an FM radio can broadcast 80 percent national music, 20pc foreign music, and only three-minute commercial breaks in a complete programme. However, Indian and English music, programmes of herbalists are being on aired by the radio, he said.
Hagi Zafrullah, another listener, said that FM99 radio administration had failed to provide proper information for the people of Vehari. Various listeners protested against the radion administration over forecasting of Indian music.
FM99 Manager Yasir said that the radio was also promoting education as one-hour spoken English class. He added that it would start a news programme soon.
