PESHAWAR: Corps Commander Lt Gen Khalid Rabbani has reiterated that Pakistan Army considers promotion of education as a paramount step in promoting peace and is actively involved in nation-building projects in the areas cleared from militants.
He was addressing the inauguration ceremony of Model School Wadudia, which has been reconstructed by Army Engineers at Mingora. He appreciated the efforts of army engineers for quality construction work in record time.
A state-of-the-art school equipped with the latest IT and science laboratories has been constructed in less than a year under the auspices of UAE Pak Assistance Programme (UPAP) which will help improve the literacy rate in Malakand Division.–Staff Reporter
StaIt is pertinent to mention that Pak Army undertook the construction of 75 social sector projects comprising 49 educational, two health and 24 water supply schemes in Malakand, Swat, which will open new vistas of opportunities for the future generations of the region. Local labour force was employed for the construction of these projects, which helped them earn respectable livelihood.
Earlier on his arrival, the corps commander was received by Maj Gen Javed Mahmood Bukhari and Maj Gen Akhtar Jamil Rao and was briefed about the ongoing development projects.
