MUZAFFARGARH
The government is providing books, bags and other facilities for the children in educational institutions so as to promote education, said Punjab Minister for Education Rana Mashhood here on Saturday.
Talking to newsmen during his to Tayyab Arghman School Basira Muzaffargarh, he said that teachers would visit the nearby localities of their schools to prepare a list of dropouts, and convince the parents to send their children to schools.
“The politicians and civil society should come forward to help the government in this regard,” he said.
ADCG Usman Ahmed, EDO (Education) Shamsher Ali, Board of Governors member Syed Muhammad Ayub Shah and Principal Asia were also present.
The ADCG said that it was the duty of the people to send their children to schools as education will make them useful citizens of the society.
The executive district officer said that emergency enrolment campaign had been launched in Muzaffargarh District to ensure enrolment of children from five to 14 years in schools.
He said that the government wanted to provide education to every child and in this regard, the drive had been launched. Meanwhile, the education minister planted a sapling in the school.
He said that the trees and shrubs play major role in improving rural landscape and help protect environment in urban areas.
