TOBA TEK SINGH - The DPO appointed DSP Rana Muhammad Abid as inquiry officer to probe the misbehaviour and torture charges against the former Moongi Police Post In-charge.
Punjab Thalassaemia Prevention Programme (TPP) district field officer Muhammad Faisal Insari accused ASI Rao Muhammad Nasir that he allegedly tortured him.
Complainant Azizullah Insari, brother of victim Faisal Insari, claimed in his application which has also been sent to the Punjab IG Police, ASI with the connivance of their opponents, raided his house along with seven official cops.
They misbehaved and tortured the family members including women, his father and brother.
The ASI also arrested Faisal Insari and took him to the police post where he again tortured his brother in the presence of his opponents. The complainant claimed that the ASI also registered a fake case under Section 354/PPC against his brother on the behest of their rivals.
It is to be noted that the accused police officer is being investigated for unlawfully arresting and torturing two villagers at the police-post.
Meanwhile, Inquiry Officer DSP Rana Muhammad Abid has summoned both the complainant and the accused in his office for August 9.
MNA visits Sasta Ramazan bazaar: PML-N MNA Haji Junaid Anwaar Chaudhry visited Sasta Ramazan bazaar here.
He went around the bazaar and inspected each stall. The MNA also inquired the consumers about the prices and quality of commodities and vegetables being sold at the bazaar.
On the occasion, the consumers expressed their satisfaction over the functioning of the Sasta Ramazan bazaar.
Meanwhile, Sasta Ramazan bazaar In-Charge Mian Saqib Shahzad apprised the MNA that a large number of consumers visited the bazaar on a daily basis and it remained opened in the night after Iftar as well.
