ISLAMABAD-Minister of State for Water and Power, Abid Sher Ali, has said that the government is encouraging development of wind power projects on upfront tariff mode to overcome shortage of energy in the country. He informed the National Assembly that Alternate Energy Development Board was pursuing the development of wind power projects by the private sector investors on IPPs mode. Minister for Industries and Production Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi told the house that "Aik Hunar, Aik Nagar" programme has implemented various training projects in Swat district which benefited about 1200 artisans of the area. The minister said that the government had provided two billion rupees subsidy as relief package to the poor during the month of Ramazan. Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, Saira Afzal Tarar informed the House that the federal government was seeking support from development partners and donors for providing support to Sindh and Balochistan nutrition programmes.
