KARACHI: The investigation team of Rangers today started probe into the killing of two Pakistan International Airline (PIA) workers, during their protest outside Jinnah Airport last week.
The team visited the site of the protest to collect evidences.
Director General Rangers Sindh Major General Bilal Akbar, in a meeting with PIA Joint Action Committee head Captain Sohail Baloch a couple days ago, assured that fair investigation would be conducted into the killing of PIA workers and whosoever found responsible would be brought to justice.
Baloch had also requested the DG Rangers to probe ‘mysterious disappearance’ of four PIA workers from Karachi.
The Pakistan International Airline (PIA) employees were killed and several more wounded at the Karachi’s international airport on Feb 2 when clashes broke out between security forces and staff, though authorities denied opening fire.
Police on Saturday registered a case against one federal cabinet minister, a senator, a former advisor to Sharif and two airline officials on the complaint of PIA employees’ Joint Action Committee, accusing them of murder and torture.
