SIALKOT/SHEIKHUPURA - Two persons, one each from rival groups were killed and seven others including three women injured in a shootout between the two rival groups over an old enmity in village Begowala, Sambrial tehsil on Sunday.
Reportedly, there had been an old enmity between local rival groups namely Gondal Group and Tihaami Group. In Fajr prayers people from both groups exchanged harsh words over some issue which was ensued by cross-firing. Resultantly two persons namely Rizwan Gondal of Gondal Group and Bashir of Tihaami Group were killed while seven others including three women injured seriously. The incident created panic among the locals of the area. Later, a huge contingent of the police reached the spot and shifted the dead bodies to Sambrial hospital for autopsy. The senior police officials reached the spot and started investigation into the incident. Meanwhile, DPO Afzaal Ahmed Kausar said that the reason behind the incident was an old enmity. The Begowala Police have registered a case.
In SHEIKHUPURA, an unidentified man was died due to severe cold in the remit of Bhiki Police the other day.
According to police, the locals spotted a dead body of middle aged man, appeared to be an addict lying near fields in Kharianwala locality. The police suspected that the man might have been died of severe cold.
