Bandits loot bank, injure three on resistance

Six veiled robbers looted the local branch of The Bank of Punjab and shot at and injured three employees here Monday evening.
As per details, six veiled robbers forced their entry into the Bank of Punjab branch situated on Azamabad Road after Maghrib prayer and held the staff hostage at gunpoint. They started collecting cash amounting hundreds of thousands of rupees in three bags. Meanwhile bank Manager (Operations) Rizwan put up resistance at which the bandits fired gunshots as a result of Rizwan, Muhammad Nadeem and Atif Ali sustained critical wounds while the bandits fled the scene. The injured were rushed to local hospital. On information, Kot Radha Kishan Police SHO Haji Muhammad Akram along with a heavy police contingent rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area.
Meanwhile, dacoits snatched a motorcycle from one Muhammad Arshad who was standing outside Sarwar Hospital and fled on the way to Kalarakabad Road. When they reached near village Turkwind they also injured two passersby Zulfiqar and a minor boy Farhan.
CLUELESS: Police failed to find any clue to robbery incident in Gold Market Bhera. However, Bhera Police have registered FIR against 8 unknown dacoits who looted gold ornaments worth over Rs100 million from 10 gold smith’s shops.
