ISLAMABAD - The local administration Friday informed that four sasta (fair price) bazaars and 35 fair price shops would be set up in the jurisdiction of the Islamabad Capital territory (ICT) during the upcoming holy month of Ramazan to provide relief to the masses at large.
In addition to that, ICT Administration the services of four mobile utility stores would also be provided to the people in these sasta bazaars.
The administration claims that the commodities would be sold in these bazaars at prices lower than those of other weekly bazaars.
According to details, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Amer Ali Ahmed, reviewed the arrangements and preparations of related departments for providing the food items at the cheaper rates to the consumers during the upcoming month of Ramadan.
He informed through a press statement that four sasta bazaars would be set up at G-7, Koral, Rawat and Bahara Kahu in the capital area during the month of Ramazan. According to the administration, 35 fair price shops would be established for the coming Ramazan where the flour, ghee, sugar, basin and pulses would be sold to the people at the ex-mill rates.
The administration has directed assistant director food, ICT to ensure the quality of food items at these fair price shops and sasta bazaars. Meanwhile, 14 price checking teams are being established to conducting price checking during Ramazan.
, a spokesman of the administration said. These teams have been directed to ensure price control, quality of food items and exact measurement of these items and labour department teams are also being deployed, he added.
The ICT Administration is also establishing a complaint cell in the office of additional deputy commissioner (general) Islamabad with telephone no 9261504 to take prompt action on consumers’ complaints and redress their grievances on the spot. This cell would be supervised by the ADC (G) Islamabad and would maintain record of complaints and their disposal properly.
