ISLAMABAD- Reacting to the allegations hurled by Arsalan Iftikhar at Imran Khan, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi said today that forces that ran a vilification campaign against Imran Khan in 1997 have become active again. Talking journalists, Qureshi said he was not surprised at the statement of Arsalan Iftikhar, son of former Chief Justice of Pakistan, Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry. "The rulers are disappointed over Imran Khan's growing popularity," he said, adding that Arsalan Iftikhar has all the right to file a reference against his leader; "we have no objection to that." He said Arsalan Iftikhar was playing a role of a 'playboy' for the incumbent government. "Allegations relating to a daughter were hurled in the past too but it made no difference to us. It rather contributed to the popularity of Imran Khan," Shah Mehmood Qureshi said. He said people too had dumped such allegations in a trash can. Earlier, Arsalan Iftikhar accused Imran Khan of concealing facts in his nomination papers. He said Imran Khan had only mentioned having two sons but did not disclose the fact of having a daughter. Arsalan Iftikhar intends to file a reference against the PTI chief soon.
