ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Post Office (PPO)has purchased the Of the Shelf Software at the cost of millions of rupees to facilitate the payment of monthly pension to the pensioners.
Sources revealed that almost 328560 retired pensioners are receiving pensions from 12033 branches of Pakistan Post Office across the country.
Sources further told that seven financial officers have been deputed in 83 branches of General Post Offices (GPOs) of the country adding that new software would expedite the process of payments in military pension, saving bank, money order, Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), child support and utility bills.
“There are corruption cases of worth Rs.3 billion in GPO and looted money was being returned from the persons allegedly involve in corruption cases” sources concluded.
