Fire burns CNG station to ashes

MIRPUR (AJK) - The citys pioneer and busiest Zafran CNG Station on Defence Road burnt to ashes here Monday evening in a terrible fire incident, police said. The fire also caused burning of two cars to skeleton parked at the station for refilling of the gas, the police post sources told The Nation here Monday evening. A major portion of the Zafran Compress Natural Gas (CNG) Station located on Defence Road in Sector D/4 in the city burnt to ashes when it caught fire during refilling of a Cultus car. The sky-touching flames engulfed a major portion of the station reducing its shed and two of the vehicles including the Cultus Car and a Suzuki carry van to ashes. The fire brigade including rescue 1122 reached the scene of occurrence 20 minutes late after the incident. On the other hand, the management of the gas station claimed that a short circuiting caused the fire at the station. The police are investigating.
