Dera Bugti gunfight kills seven militants

QUETTA - Seven militants were killed and nine others wounded in a gunfight with FC men in Dera Bugti on Tuesday.
According to a spokesperson for FC, unidentified gunmen attacked an FC convoy in Pat Feeder area of Dera Bugti when the caravan was returning from a routine patrol.
The clash between FC men and rebels started late Monday and lasted till Tuesday dawn, he said, adding that seven militants were killed and nine others sustained injuries in the shootout.
The security personnel remained unhurt in the attack. Sources said a key militant commander was among the dead.
The troops also seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition. No group has claimed responsibility so far. The forces have launched a search for the culprits. However, no arrest was made till filing of this report.
Earlier on Monday, three militants were killed in similar attack in Dera Bugti.
Meanwhile, Jamhoori Watan Party chief Talal Akbar Bugti has alleged that security forces killed 21 people and abducted 32 people, including women and children, in operations carried out in Dera Bugti during last few days.
Addressing a press conference, he alleged the security personnel carried operation in Kordan, Sor, Qambani, Sangsila, Zin Koh, Sui and other areas.
“Security men torched huts and shelters of Bugti tribesmen,” the JWP leader said and claimed that the killing of Baloch people continued in Dera Bugti. He urged the United Nations to take notice of the issue.
