ISLAMABAD - Sartaj Aziz, the prime minister’s adviser on foreign affairs and national security, said on Friday that the Chinese president is not visiting Pakistan on March 23; however, his visit would soon take place.
Talking to newsmen after attending the book launching ceremony of General (Retd) Abdul Majeed at Islamabad Club, Sartaj Aziz said that dates for the visit of the Chinese president are being finalised through diplomatic channels.
Answering another question about the outcome of talks held last week between the foreign secretaries of India and Pakistan, he admitted that there was no serious progress in last week talks between the foreign secretaries of the two countries but quickly added that these talks have opened path for future negotiations.
He said although the two foreign secretaries discussed all the issues and concerns of the two countries, yet there was need to achieve some progress on the dialogue process. He expressed the hope that there could be progress in these talks in future. He said there was no breakthrough in the recently held talks between the two foreign secretaries. Sartaj Aziz said there was no date fixed for the next round of talks. He said Pakistan and Afghanistan are cooperating with each other on terrorist attack on Army Public School Peshawar.
