SIALKOT-The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has busted an international gang of human traffickers and extortionists, and arrested three accused while extorting money from the families of some youth who were sent Turkey illegally.
Some youths had been sent to Turkey via Iran and now some Pakistani human traffickers and agents had kidnapped and detained them in their private torture cells at various places of Turkey.
Divisional Deputy Director FIA Khalid Anees told newsmen that the human traffickers now torture the kidnapped youth and their accomplices in Pakistan collect extortion money from the grieved families of these youth for their release.
He said that two victim families had approached the FIA, seeking FIA help in this regard. He added that the FIA tightened its noose on the extortionists and arrested Irfan, Imran and Gulfam while collecting ransom from the families of Zaman and Bilal who were sent to Turkey via Iran some months ago. He said that the FIA has sent the accused behind bars after registering separate cases.
PROJECT APPROVED: The Punjab government has approved reconstruction of 28km Daska-Pasrur Road. The District Development Committee had sent the Rs1 billion project to Punjab government for final approval, the district administration officer said.
Punjab government will allocate Rs1 billion development funds for the project in the coming fiscal budget for providing the better means of communication facilities to people of Daska and Pasrur tehsils.
The construction of main Daska-Pasrur Road will begin at the start of the fiscal year 2016-17. The main Daska-Pasrur Road has become dilapidated with three to four feet deep ditches everywhere on this road.
It was stated to be the most neglected road by the local elected political representatives from both Daska and Pasrur tehsils. It had been wearing a gloomy look of official negligence and apathy. It connects Daska and Pasrur tehsils.
According to the perturbed villagers, the main road had been waiting for its repairing/reconstruction for the last two decades, due to alleged less interest of the local elected political representatives.
“Now, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has finally approved the project of reconstruction of this road, after about two-decades long wait by the local people,” they added.
