Meeting reviews security steps for Muharram


LAKKI MARWAT - A meeting was held here to review security arrangements for Muharram with District Police Officer, Muhammad Idrees Khan, in the chair at his office on Tuesday. 
Besides district khateeb Maulana Abdul Wahab, former nazim Faqeer Abdul Khalik, Haji Gul Badshah, Pir Sued Zahoor Abbas Shah Afgar Bukhari, elders of Shia and Sunni sects, members of peace committee and subordinate police officials attended the meeting. 
Idrees told the meeting that the district police administration had made foolproof arrangements to maintain complete peace and harmony on the occasion of Youm-e-Ashoor. He said that the sectarian and religious harmony among Shia and Sunni sects at local level would help to observe the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions with religious reverence and
He told that police would provide complete security to the processions of mourners besides cops in plain clothes would perform duty in different routes and other important public places. “The station house officers of all police stations and other subordinate police officials have been directed to keep a vigil on movements of anti social elements and suspects in their respective jurisdictions,” he maintained.
He called upon the members of peace committee to promote peace and tolerance and cooperate with police force for maintenance of peace and tranquility during the days of holy month.
