Merit violation costs Health Dept Rs2m

TOBA TEK SINGH - PML-N District President and District Health Department Advisor Ch Amjad Ali Javed has written a letter to the Punjab Health Secretary about the violation of merit that caused the department a loss of Rs2 million.
In his letter he accused the health department officials of causing loss of Rs 2 million to the department by recruiting school health and nutrition supervisors in violation of merit.
He stated that following the complaint lodged by one Ihsanullah of Gojra about violation, he had repeatedly requested the Executive District Officer (EDO) Health to provide required documents for verification but to no avail.
He added that recruitment of these supervisors had caused the department the loss of Rs2 million in the shape of payment of salaries and allowances to them.
He demanded the formation of a high level enquiry to probe into the matter.
When contacted Executive District Officer (EDO) Health Dr Ashraf Javed, he said that DCO Syed Javed Iqbal had already ordered an inquiry which was being conducted by District Monitoring Officer Ijaz Munir and if charges were proved the concerned officials would face action.
