PTI candidate for UC chairman kidnapped

GUJRANWALA -A PTI candidate for the seat of chairman UC-13 was allegedly kidnapped during election campaign the other night, his father informed the police on Friday.
The Jinnah Road Police have registered a case against his 13 rivals including nine nominated accused and started investigation. In an application to the police, Haji Muhammad Iqbal, father of Mian Babar Iqbal alleged that his son, a PTI candidate for the seat of chairman Union Council No-13 had gone for his election campaign on Thursday night but did return. He alleged that Mian Babar was kidnapped by his political rivals including Waqar Ahmed Cheema, Sheikh Nasir, Sheikh Ejaz, Abdul Sattar, Faiz, Saif Ullah, Islam Mughal, Afzal, Irfan and their four unidentified accomplices.The police have started investigation into the incident.
Meanwhile, the Wazirabad police recovered illegal arms from the office of a candidate for the seat of general councillor. Following the raid, hundreds of supporters and companions of the candidate rushed to the police station and chanted slogans against the police.
On a tip-off, the Wazirabad City Police raided the office of Baba Javed, a candidate for the seat of general councillor and recovered six rifles and two thousands bullets.
Later, scores of Baba Javed supports gathered at the police station and chanted slogans against police. The Saddr Circle SP said that no pressure from any quarter would be tolerated and strict action would be taken against violators. The police have registered a case against about 150 persons.
