Passport offices to be set up in all districts by Jan 2017: Senate informed

ISLAMABAD: The Senate was informed today that passport offices will be set up in all districts by January next year.

Minister of State for Interior Baligh-ur-Rehman told the Upper House, while responding to a call attention notice moved by Muhammad Usman Khan Kakar that work in this regard is in full progress with the aim to facilitate the people.

He said that passports in several districts including Nushki, Kalat, Panjgoor, Mastung are almost ready and will be inaugurated after Muharram.

The passport offices in Musa Khel, Barkhan and Jhal Magsi will be inaugurated on 15th of this month, he said.

The Senate also passed “The State Life Insurance Corporation (Re-Organization and Conversion) bill 2016”.

The bill was moved by Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab.

Six bills were introduced in the House on Friday. These are: The Central Law Officers (Amendment) Bill, 2016, The Legal Practitioners and Bar Councils (Amendment) bill, The Code of Civil Procedure (Amendment) Bill, Islamabad High Court (Amendment )bill, The Civil Courts (Amendment) Bill 2016 and The Companies (Appointment of Legal Advisers) (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

The chair referred the bills to the standing committees concerned.
