‘Imran, Tareen references to be taken to logical conclusion’

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) leaders Talal Chaudhry, Daniyal Aziz and Barrister Zafarullah Khan on Tuesday said that assembly would continue to function and references against Imran Khan and Jehangir Tareen would be taken to logical conclusion.

Talking to media outside the Parliament House, PML-N MNA Talal Chaudhry said in recent elections in Vehari, Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Jhelum people rejected Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf. He said it would be better for Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leadership to first read references against it and then talk about them. He said those who are making tall claims in Karachi should remember that peace has been restored by the efforts of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. Talal Chaudhry said a politician of Rawalpindi was playing double game for personal interest and people have rejected him and supported PML-N. He said mentioning the names of chief justice and army chief in his statements will not help Sheikh Rashid in attaining his negative objectives.

PML-N leader Daniyal Aziz said issue of references should not be politicized and facts cannot be changed through propaganda. He said people of the country are supporting PML-N and rejected those elements who are against prosperity of the country. He said PML-N under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will continue to serve the masses. Pakistan Muslim League (N) leader Barrister Zarafullah Khan said that those living in glass houses should not throw stones at others. He said PTI chief at one stage claimed that he purchased three hundred kanals of land at Bani Gali and then said his former wife gifted him which showed his contradictory statements.

He said Imran Khan first purchased land in Bani Gala and then sold his flat in London. Imran Khan got registered an offshore company Niazi services in England in 1983 and never made it public till 2015, which is a violation of Constitution of Pakistan. He said Imran Khan basically evaded tax and cheated people of the country which showed his lack of sincerity.

The assets which Imran declared had worth of Rs 10 million but these assets increased to Rs 540 million next year, he noted. He said all documents related to Imran Khan were obtained through proper channel after paying fee to the relevant company. He said the Speaker sent reference to the Election Commission within the power given to him under the constitution. He said according to the reference against Jehangir Tareen, the PTI leader secured shares of United Sugar Mills worth Rs.70 million in the name of his cook and gardener.

On a notice issued by Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), Tareen was fined Rs 10 million which he paid, besides paying Rs one million to the lawyer of SECP.
