MUZAFFARGARH - Former Punjab governor and PML-F Provincial Chief Malik Ghulam Mustafa Khar said that the PML-N will support his party candidates in Punjab and in turn his party will back its candidates in Sindh as agreed by PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif.
He said that the PML-N would emerge a major party in the general elections 2013.
Talking to a group of mediamen here on Saturday, Mustafa Khar said that the Lahore High Court took a timely step by barring intrusive questioning by returning officers from the candidates.
The former governor said that courts should not humiliate candidates.
“It is our family decision that my niece Hina Rabbani will not take part in general elections 2013,” he claimed, adding that she, however, would a covering candidate of her father in NA-177. He added that she was not interested to be elected on reserved seats for the women as she was intended to serve in UN as Pakistan’s representative.
To a question, he said that Jamshed Dasti had met his fate and that he did make any difference for them. Khar claimed that his family believed in politics of principles and opposed to mud-slinging on the opponents. When asked that the revised list of PPP’s women candidates for reserved seats did not carry Hina’s name, Khar replied that according to the new rules, the party head had the authority to revise the list anytime by stating reasons for this revision.
He was optimistic that he would return from NA-176 with overwhelming majority because the PPP had no roots in this area.
