PESHAWAR - IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ihsan Ghani has directed police high-ups to adopt foolproof security measures for maintenance of law and order during the last days of holy month of Ramazan and Eid occasion and pre-empt and prevent all types of terrorists and saboteur activities well in time.
These special directives were given to all regions DIGs and DPOs throughout the province in a circular issued from CPO on Wednesday. They have been directed in the circular to tighten the noose around the nick of terrorists, further improve their intelligence net work, establish special Naka Bandis in all in-lets and out-lets of each and every city and carry out special checking on these points.
The IGP further directed the police high-ups to take special measures for safety of important national installations, personalities, worships places, markets, banks, hospitals, petrol pumps, railway stations, airport and other potential targets.
The police high-ups were also directed to make journey safe for the commuters on all important main roads and high ways and increase their patrolling on these and prevent and preempt any attempt of robberies and dacoities on it. It has also been directed to completely ban brandishing and displaying of all kind of arms and weapons and carry out effective security measures after sun set.
The IGP also directed for stringent security measures for the protection of life and honour of people at all public places and parks. They have further been directed to adopt special security measures at all shopping centers especially for protection of women customers and deploy plain clothes personnel beside routine policing to effectively curb the menace of purse and mobile phone snatching incidents.
Meanwhile, Mardan police reviewed security arrangements in the city and finalized a security plan to maintain law and order on the eve of Eidul Fitr, a communiqué' issued stated here on Wednesday.
The release said that a meeting of the police high-ups to this effect was held with the Deputy Inspector of Police (DIG) Mardan Region Muhammad Ali Babakhel in the chair and attended by District Police Officers (DPOs), Superintendents of Police (SPs) and other officials. Speaking on the occasion, the DIG said that corruption and negligence in the line of duty would not be tolerated at any cost.
