Efforts geared up to evacuate stranded Pakistanis in Libya

TRIPOLI- In pursuance of Prime Minister’s directive, the Pakistan Embassy in Libya is making all out efforts to provide relief to the stranded Pakistanis.

Two Relief Centers have been set up in Tripoli and Benghazi where hundreds of Pakistani nationals desirous of repatriation have been housed. Two injured Pakistanis have been evacuated through Tunisia.

Hectic efforts are also underway to obtain release of any detained Pakistanis in Libya. A total of 83 prisoners have been already released through Embassy’s efforts in the last two days alone. These had been in prison for many months.

Registration process for stranded Pakistanis is also underway to determine the precise numbers so as to facilitate the logistic arrangements for their repatriation.
