Kashmiris grateful for Pakistan's unflinching support

MIRPUR (AJK) - Azad Jammu and Kashmir is going to achieve a major breakthrough in dispensation of higher quality profession education in medical and Information Technology disciplines as Prime Minister of Pakistan Raja Pervaiz Ashraf is scheduled to lay the foundation stone of Poonch Medical College and Information Technology University in Rawalakot city here on December 15.
Disclosing this at a news conference at Kashmir Press Club here on Friday, AJK Prime Minister Ch Abdul Majeed said that the Poonch Medical College in Rawalakot would be the third mega project of medical colleges in the public-sector in AJK next to the recently established Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Medical colleges in Mirpur and Mir Waiz Molvi Farooq Medical College in Muzaffarabad.
Ch Majeed said that after arrival in AJK the Prime Minister of Pakistan would also address a public rally in Bagh on December 15.
The AJK PM said that the PM Raja Pervez Ashraf made this commitment during his meeting with him and AJK President Sardar Yaqoob Khab who called on him at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad on Thursday.
Elaborating the meeting, the AJK PM said that that the meeting lasted for an hour. The current scenario of Kashmir issue, development and prosperity of the state and Prime Minister Ashraf's visit to Kashmir were brought under discussion in the meeting, he said.
He continued that Premier Ashraf assured the AJK leadership that Rs20 billion bailout package would be released before his schedule visit this month.
"He also issued direction to the concerned authorities regarding the construction of International Airport at Mirpur and asked them to complete the planning and designing of the projects at earliest possible so that this project could be started soon", Ch Majeed told.
He claimed that the Pakistani PM also assured the AJK government that Rs10 million grant announced by former PM Gilani for Kashmir Press Club Mirpur would be provided very soon.
Ch Majeed said that Raja Pervez Ashraf reiterated the just and principled stance of the government of Pakistan about continuing support to the cause of Kashimiris for achievement of their birth right to self-determination in line with the aspirations of the people of the state.
"Kashmir is the core issue and the way President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, in his recent address to the UNO, advocated the Kashmiris' voice was the true representation of our will and policy", PM Ashraf said while talking to the two Kashmiri leaders.
Ch Majeed said that he assured that his government would never back out of the principle stance on Kashmir. "The Pakistani PM lauded the sacrifices of Kashmiris for Pakistan, especially of those who rendered everything for Mangla Upraising for the better future of Pakistan", according to the AJK PM who added that the he also assured the construction of 110 km-long Road from Athmaqam to Taobutt in the near future.
The AJK PM, meanwhile, extended gratitude to the Pakistani government for continuing unflinching support to Kashmiris' struggle for the right to self-determination and speedy development and progress of the AJK.
