QUETTA - Two people including a sub-inspector and a member of Ahmadi community were gunned down in Pishin and Quetta in two separate incidents of firing on Friday.In the first incident, unidentified armed men opened indiscriminate fire on a sub-inspector, Manzoor Hussain, near District Jail Pishin and fled from the scene. He sustained multiple bullet wounds and died before reaching the hospital. “According to initial reports the deceased cop was a resident of Dera Ghazi Khan and the incident appears to be a case of targeted killing,” a police official said, adding that further investigations were underway in this connection. In the second incident, armed gunmen killed a man in Satellite Town area of Quetta.Police said unidentified men intercepted a man at Satellite Town Block 4, at gunpoint and tried to snatch motorbike. They opened fire when motorcyclist offered resistance. As a result, he received serious wounds and died immediately. The attackers fled from the scene along with motorbike.Police getting information rushed to the site and moved the body to hospital for medico-legal formalities where the deceased was identified as Maqsood Ahmad. “The victim reportedly belongs to Ahmadi community,” police said, adding that probe was underway to ascertain if it was a target killing or a bike snatching case.Police have registered a case and started investigation into incident.
