The Anti-Corruption Establishment have registered a case against five officials of the Education and Literacy Department including a former EDO (Education) and two DOs Education (Secondary and Elementary) on the charge of misappropriating millions of rupees during their posting in the district.
According to ACE source, Punjab Teachers Union President Mushtaq Ahmad Chattha submitted application to the higher officers of the ACE, contending that former DO Education (Secondary) Hafiz Rafique Anjum and DO Education (Elementary) Syed Mustazahar Hussain Naqvi had misused their official powers and had made bogus appointments after receiving bribes from the candidates and thus inflicted loss of millions of rupees on the national exchequer. Moreover, former EDO Dr Muhammad Iqbal Naeem and Accountants Muhammad Shafique and Muhammad Saleem had also misappropriated millions of rupees during their posting in the district. After a thorough inquiry conducted by ACE Circle Officer Rana Muhammad Ramzan, allegations against the five officials were established. Thereupon, the ACE has registered two separate cases against the accused.
However, no arrest has been made as yet.
ROBBED: A villager of Nahrianwala was deprived of his brand new motorbike by two armed bandits near his village. According to police source, Nadeem Abbas was on the way to his village on his Applied For bike and when he reached near his village two bandits intercepted him and snatched bike from him at gunpoint. The police have registered a case against the accused.
