ISLAMABAD - Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has once again called for appointment of a full time foreign minister.
Inaugurating the signature campaign against Indian forces atrocities on Kashmiris outside parliament house, Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah said yesterday that his party’s four demands were simple and had no political aims.
Shah said, “We don’t want war with India but Kashmir issue must be resolved as per aspirations of people of Kashmir.”
He said the PPP had raised Kashmir dispute at every forum and he stressed the rulers that they should follow clear policy on Kashmir and there was need of a full time foreign minister. He maintained that an elected foreign minister had his own language and power.
Shah said, “We adopted stance against terrorism and formed committee against it as well and we did never go outside parliament.” He added that courts were granted powers through constitution and the parliament and law could do a lot.
Shah added, “A person who is political and comes from public, has courage. The masses have their power above the politician, however, our demands are not for political gains but they are in the interest of the country.”
