DASKA - The district administration has offered to pay the fee of eunuchs’ Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs) from the local government’s special funds, in a bid to attract the eunuchs to get them registered in voters’ lists and get their CNICs.
District Officer (Human Resources) Malik Abid Hussain Awan disclosed this while addressing an important meeting with the local eunuchs held at Social Welfare Department here Tuesday. He also announced to provide all the needed facilities including transportation to eunuchs to bringing their maximum number to Nadra offices.
During the meeting, the local eunuchs pointed out that their community was still disappointed as both the federal and provincial governments had given nothing to them. Local eunuch gurus Kanwal, Meera and Madhuri also urged the government to focus on early solution of prolonged problems of their community.
They said that the eunuchs have also been suffering some social problems, saying that the people of any locality often refuse to put their house on rent to any eunuch, people often found hooting eunuchs when they going to bazaars for shopping or during their movement form a place to another place.
