QUETTA – An anti-terrorism court on Thursday called the minutes of the meetings took place between the former federal and provincial cabinets that approved the Dera Bugti operation. Conducting the hearing of the Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti murder case, judge Muhammad Ismail ordered the investigation team to produce the minutes of meetings in the next hearing. During Thursday’s proceedings, the accused former federal interior minister Aftab Ahmed Sherpao and former Balochistan home minister Shoaib Nosharwani submitted applications for their interim bail. Counsel for the petitioner, Sohail Rajput, informed the court the other accused, former president Pervez Musharraf and former prime minister Shaukat Aziz, were yet to be arrested through Interpol to carry out the orders of the Balochistan High Court. Upon this, the judge called a progress report on the arrest of Musharraf and Aziz from the investigation team. Earlier, the investigators asked the court to exclude from the case the name of former chief minister Jam Muhammad Yousuf who passed away a few days back. The request was granted. The case was adjourned till February 27. The petition has been filed by Nawabzada Jamil Bugti, son of Akbar Bugti, the former head of Bugti tribe.This news was published in The Nation newspaper.
