MULTAN: Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Sunday demanded that the government should form a judicial commission to probe the killing of PIA employees during a protest in Karachi.
Talking to journalists here, he stressed the need for resolving the issue of PIA through dialogue. “The government wants to deprive the employees of their basic rights through the imposition of Essential Services Maintenance Act,” Qureshi claimed, adding that the government must suspend the act immediately. “Issues cannot be resolved with the use of force,” he pointed out.
The PTI leader urged the government to address reservations of the PIA employees immediately and adopt a line that protects the interest of employees and the country.
He also advised the government to avoid a debate over the PIA ordinance in the National Assembly, saying that it would open pandora’s box about the proposed privatization.–Online
