Shots fired on TV channel’s office

LAHORE - Two motorcyclists opened firing outside the office of City-42 situated on Jail Road here on Sunday. However, no loss of life was reported.
Police said that two armed motorcycle riders came there and opened firing outside the office of City-42 and fled from the scene.
On receiving information, concerned police reached the spot and collected forensic evidence from crime scene.
Shadman police claimed that outlaws involved in the incident would be arrested soon.
Further investigation was underway.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid condemned aerial firing outside the office of the private news channel.
The minister, in a statement, said the PML-N government firmly believed in the freedom of expression and would continue to safeguard the independence of media.
Pervaiz Rashid said the federal government, in close liaison with all the provincial governments, was making all-out efforts to ensure security and protection to the media persons as well as the media houses.
