ISLAMABAD - The visiting Chairman of High Peace Council of Afghanistan, Prof Burhan-ud-Din Rabbani called on Governor Khyber Pakhtun-khwa Owais Ahmed Ghani here at a local hotel on Friday. Both sides discussed the overall situation in Afghanistan and Pakistan in the backdrop of ongoing war against terror and its impact on peace and stability in the region. Later, talking to journalists, Afghan former president, who is leading a 25-member delegation, said they had very fruitful talks and hoped that both the brotherly neighbouring countries would succeed in bringing lasting peace and stability in the region. He hoped that his efforts would bear fruits in convening of a grand jirga of the people from both Afghanistan and Pakistan. Governor Owais Ghani also described his talks with the visiting dignitary positive and fruitful and supported the Afghanistan's peace initiative, hoping it soon bear fruits.
