KARACHI - Three people were killed in different areas of the metropolis here on Wednesday. In the first incident, a 22-year-old housemaid namely Jameela was gunned down in broad daylight on main road in Gulistan-e-Johar Block-14 near Ahmed Residency Apartment, in the remit of Shahra-e-Faisal Police. However, upon her hue and cry, the locals caught the culprit, identified as Sajjad after he committed the crime and handed him over to Shahra-e-Faisal Police. According to the police, the culprit initially confessed that he killed Jameela because she bore clear resemblance with his niece who fled from her hometown last year. The police said that the victim and the culprit both belonged to Obaro, Interior Sindh and Jameela was killed over her similarity with the culprits niece. The victim was the resident of slum area of Gulistan-e-Johar Block-11 while her father is a laborer by profession. The body of the victim was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for legal formalities and later handed over to the family. In another incident, 50-year-old Aftab Hussain Shah, son of Ahmed Hassan Shah was found hanged in House no 5A- 4/14 while his legs were tied with a rope. The police said that unidentified culprits had hanged him after severe torture. They said the victim was a drug addict and might have been killed by his friends. However the police have registered a case and started investigation. Meanwhile, the Surjani Town Police found the dead body of a man, bearing torture marks from a cardboard box in Sector 36-J Taissar Town in New Karachi. The police said that unidentified culprits had killed the man who seemed to be a Bangali National and threw his body in the New Karachi area. The body was shifted to Abbassi Shaheed Hospital and later shifted to the Edhi mortuary for identification.
