Mianwali: Nawaz comes hard on IG

LAHORE While expressing grief on the death of two persons during a protest demonstration in Mianwali against loadshedding, PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif came hard on the Punjab Inspector General of Police for the poor law and order situation in the province. Nawaz Sharif stated this during a meeting held at Chief Ministers Secretariat on Thursday under the chair of Senior Advisor to chief minister Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khosa. MNA Hamza Shahbaz was also present on the occasion. PML-N chief said that he could not left the people at the mercy of police. He asked the IGP to mend his ways and not to test his mettle. He said there was no other option for the poor people except taking to the streets against the PPP government. Baton charging and shooting at protesters was sheer violation of all moral values and law of the land, Nawaz further added. The protesters should have been dealt with administratively rather than brutally, he suggested. He asked the IGP to withdraw the FIRs lodged against the protesting citizens in Mianwali incident.
