Tauqir likely to be brought back on 9th

ISLAMABAD   -   Proclaimed offender and principal accused of Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) multibillion scam, Tauqir Sadiq, would tentatively be brought back to Pakistan through Islamabad-bound Air Blue flight number PA-231 on Tuesday (tomorrow) at 07:30am, the reliable sources told The Nation on Sunday.According to the documentation regarding deportation and extradition, the absconder is in the custody of National Accountability Bureau (NAB), as the paper work and all legal formalities have been completed. However, the physical custody of the former OGRA chief will be given to NAB investigation officer (IO) at Abu Dhabi International Airport on Tuesday morning at 03:30am tomorrow (Tuesday), the sources added.The former OGRA chairman at present is in the physical custody of Interpol and is jailed at AL-Ain Jail, Abu Dhabi. It is expected that he would be produced before the Accountability Court (AC) No.1 Islamabad on Tuesday to get his physical remand for further interrogation, the sources claimed.Earlier, before fleeing Pakistan the former chairman OGRA was detected on Jinnah International Airport Karachi by the investigation team comprising NAB officials and Punjab Police. He was detected through his call data record (CDR) of his only available cell number 03334761744, which was switched off on December 10, 2012, the sources added. Then all security institutions helped the team as it gathered information about communication details between Tauqir Sadiq and his family from NADRA, FIA, IBMS and three different cellular companies (Ufone, Telenor and Zong). After getting the travel history of absconder, the investigation team requested the concerned quarters to allow the team to go to Nepal as the team was fully convinced by intelligence and investigative work that they will find the fugitive in Nepal despite the fact that immigration record was still showing his presence in Pakistan, the sources added.                             After receiving the necessary permission from concerned authorities on December 25, 2012 the team proceeded to Karachi on 26th of December and took flight on the very next day from Karachi to Katmandu (Nepal), the sources added.The team scrutinised the travel details of Tauqir Sadiq's family in available immigration record and it was found that Tauqir's wife Saiqa Tauqir and her children arrived in Nepal on 10th December 2012 and were staying at Nandani Hotel Airport Road Katmandu, the sources added.During the course of examining the immigration record of Katmandu Airport, it came to the surface that record identification was maintained manually and no travel history of Tauqir was found on general passenger list at Katmandu Airport. However, travel history of the absconder was found in the diplomat's travel record at Katmandu Airport, the sources added.Tauqir Sadiq arrived UAE via Air Arabia flight No.G9-531 on 28th November 2012 and got visa of thirty days via reference number 57195 against Passport number CX5468061 as a diplomat whereas the team had his passport number CX5468062. Similarly, the fugitive left for Dhaka (Bangladesh) on 26th December 2012 via GMG Airlines flight No Z5-5024, the sources claimed. Later on the team after searching record of all the departed 26 flights from Katmandu on 26th December 2012 found that a passenger namely Tauqir Sadiq departed in Air Arabia flight No. G9-536 seat No. 21-B to Sharjah (UAE) against ticket No.5142353213229E issued from Al-Zaitoon Travels, the sources added.
