ECP decides to provide copy of Khan’s documents to Arsalan

Islamabad- The Election Commission of Pakistan has decided to provide copies of documents related to PTI chief Imran Khan, to Arsalan Iftikhar.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has confirmed that Arsalan Iftikhar, son of former Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, has sought copy of nomination papers of PTI chief Imran Khan.
ECP spokesman said that the documents would be provided to Arsalan Iftikhar within three days in line with legal procedure. The ECP spokesman, however, rejected media reports that a summary has been forwarded to Chief Election Commission for provision of the documents to Arsalan Iftikhar. “Nomination papers of parliamentarians are public documents which any citizen can avail through an application,” he said.

Reports say Arsalan Iftikhar is preparing to submit a reference with the Speaker National Assembly against Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Imran Khan. According to sources, the reference will be filed for not fulfilling the requirements of Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution in connection with contesting the general elections.
Talking to journalists on Monday, Asralan Iftikhar said he believed that Imran Khan concealed some facts in the nomination papers he had filed at the ECP for contesting the general elections of May 11, 2013.
He said, in the nomination papers, Imran Khan did mention having two sons but did not disclose the fact of having a daughter. “He is neither Sadiq (honest) nor Ameen (upright),” Arsalan Iftikhar alleged. Earlier, he submitted an application with the ECP for obtainment of the copy of nomination papers of Imran Khan.
