Kamalia: Unscheduled loadshedding of power and gas has become a matter of grave concern and the government should to take steps to overcome the crisis, Pakistan Peace and Human Rights Council (PPHRC) Chairman Rana Saeed Rashid Manj.
Addressing a meeting of the council the other day, he stressed that the government should take immediate steps to control unscheduled loadshedding especially during Sehr, Iftar and taraveeh.
About facilities being provided at Ramazan Bazaars, he said that there is a need for adopting an effective strategy to enforce fixed prices of staple foods at these bazaars. “Separate counters for elderly persons should be established at the bazaars as they have to wait for their turn standing in long queues in the scorching heat,” he stressed, adding that all the edibles should also be provided on subsidised rates to the citizens. He stressed that mosques must be provided foolproof security and lack of policemen should be filled by hiring Police National Volunteers who may be given all basic facilities and training with Rs500 honorarium on daily basis to accommodate their services.–Staff Reporter
