FAISALABAD
The International Colour & Chem Expo was held here on Sunday with the participation of delegates from Turkey, China, India, Malaysia, Korea, Spain, German, Taiwan and United Kingdom as well as from the country.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of two-day expo on the second, Punjab Minister for Industries, Commerce and Investment Ch Shafiq said that the coal is being utilised for producing the energy. He said that a special railway train has been prepared for the transportation of coal. He added that the step would help increase the income of Pakistan Railways. The minister announced that that the government would set up an expo centre on 50 acre land at M-III Industrial Estate under the arrangement of FIEDMC. He said that unemployment could only be decreased through promotion of industrialisation and making the people skilled in different fields.
He said that the govt was taking a number of steps to overcome the energy crisis and introduce the tax reforms. He said that Punjab government was following solid and effective policies for the promotion of business and investment and a one-window operation system under Punjab Industrial department was being set up for providing facilities under one roof for the entrepreneurs.
The minister said that his department was providing facilities for investors to establish industries and launch different businesses. He said that the all the chambers of commerce and business organisation in the Punjab had been taken on board for formulating business policies and redressal of their issues.
He said that the Punjab government had started a programme for skills development and target had been fixed to impart two million people with training of different trade skills with monthly scholarships.
He appreciated the efforts of the organiser for successful holding of the expo, and said that event provided ample opportunities of exchanging experiences and business techniques for the advancement of trade activities.
The event was held by Punjab Dyes and Chemical Association here at Civic Centre, Canal Road. Expo event Chairman Raheem Chughtai, Co Chairman Rashid Munir, Director Event Rashidul Haq, Chairman of All Pakistan Textile Processing Association Saeed Ahmad, President of Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industries Ch Nawaz, Vice Chairman Syed Alamdar Hussain and a large number of delegates from the country and abroad were also present.
Presenting welcome address, Raheem thanked the minister for gracing event as chief guest, and informed him that the delegates from Turkey, China, India, Malaysia, Korea, Spain, German, Taiwan and United Kingdom were participating in the expo. He said that more than 150 stalls have been set up in the event to promote the colour and chemical business and export of Pakistan.
