Bid to kidnap child foiled

QUETTA - People and personnel of Frontier Corps (FC) on Friday foiled an attempt of kidnapping a Hindu child and arrested an accused person red-handed in Quetta on Friday. According to details, Grupreet, 5, was on his way home alongwith her sister on Patel Road of the City when a person held them at gun-point and put Grupreet into his vehicle. He was trying to escape from site when sister of Grupreet started shouting for help. On which area people and personnel of FC who were standing nearby a check post followed kidnappers and arrested accused kidnapper identified as Suni Kumar and recovered Grupreet from his custody. The people also subjected accused kidnapper to torture and later handed him over to police. Police sources said that accused person was being interrogated and efforts were on to arrest his other accomplices. Rajesh Kumar, father of Grupreet, appreciated the timely action of people and personnel of FC for arresting accused kidnapper red-handed and recovering his child. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Muhammad Aslam Khan Raisani has appreciated the cooperation of people with law-enforcement agencies in arresting the kidnapper. He appealed to the people to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in fighting against criminals and anti-social elements. It may be mentioned here that incidents of kidnapping for ransom are on the rise in Balochistan particularly in provincial capital while police so far has failed to arrest kidnappers.
