Lawyers observe strike against forgery

OUR STAFF REPORTER NANKANA SAHIB - District bar Nankana is going to observe complete strike in protest against embezzlement by the Bars ex-general secretary. Addressing a press conference, district bar president Ch Haq Nawaz and others said, We are doing Jihad against corruption and corrupt elements of the bar. Nawaz alleged that bar ex-general secretary Kashif Chaudhry and bar former president Shahbaz Ahmed Bhatti were involved in embezzlement of the district bar funds worth Rs2.5 million up to December 27, 2010. After the audit reports, Bhatti returned Rs0.6 million and Kashif returned Rs0.5 million through bank cheques. Bhatti got clearance certificate after paying Rs0.6 million payment vide bank cheques after audits reports. But now after around 22 audits, Kashif and his representative is not cooperating and giving details of pending amount of Rs14,19,583 but has moved his corruption recovery case to Punjab Bar Council for audit to get more time. Due to this corruption, complete strike is going to be observed and the lawyers would not appear before the courts.
