BCCI role discussed for economic development

BAHAWALPUR - Commissioner Muhammad Khan Khichi said that the economic condition of the common man could be improved through the promotion of industries and trade in the area.
He said that the Chamber of Commerce and Industries could play a vital role in this regard.
He was addressing a ceremony held in honour of newly elected office-bearers of BCCI here the other day.  He said that the BCCI was an exemplary institute in Southern Punjab and its members were working for the promotion of industry.  Speaking on the occasion, MNA Baligur Rehman said that the BCCI was working with a new vision.
He said that economic activities were increasing in the area which will help improve the condition of the common man.  He said that the govt had woven a web of craft bazaars, vocational training institutes, model bazaars, girl colleges and dual carriageway in city to facilities the general public.  Addressing the participants, MNA Saood said that BCCI members were playing an important role for the improvement of the economy of the division.
IUB VC Dr Mukhtar Ahmad said that the Islamia University had an old relation with Chamber of Commerce.
BCCI Newly-elected President Atif Aziz said that Bahawalpur Chamber of Commerce role in the development of the area was very prominent.
He said that he would concentrate on energy crisis which was mother of all economic ills. He said that the year would be observed as energy-focused year.
