Private colleges clinch 25 out of top 31 positions

Girls bag top three awards in HSSC exams

MIRPUR (AJK)-Private-sector colleges students produced better result than those of public sector colleges in Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) Part-II (Composite) Examinations held under the auspices of AJK Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.
The Board unveiled the names of top 20 position holders in the examination. BISE Chairman Prof Zaheer Ahmed Chaudhry was the chief guest who unveiled the names of the first top three position holders all girls two belonging to two private private-sector educational institutions and a public-sector college of AJK.
Besides, the chairman highlighted the salient features of the fool proof examination system conducted by the Board.
Ms Asma Batool d/o Ghulam Rabbani (Roll No 510336) of Fatima Tuz Sohra Girls College Kotli, belonging to pre-Engineering group secured first position in entire Board in the examination by securing 1042 marks out of total of 1100 marks.
Similarly Qudsia Irfan d/o Muhammd Irfan (Roll No 501145) (Pre-Medical group) of Punjab College, Mirpur and Ms Saniah Bashir (Roll No 500183) (Pre-Medical group) of Government Model Science College Muzaffarabad secured 2nd and 3rd positions obtaining 1040 and 1039 marks respectively.
The results are also available on the website of the AJK BISE. The preliminary analyses of the overall results spoke of the unprecedented excellent performance of the private-sector colleges as compared to those running in the public sector across Azad Jammu Kashmir – as only 2 public-sector colleges including Govt. Science College Muzaffarabad and the Degree College Rawalakot secured a total of six positions out of first top 31 positions in the examination, announced the AJK BISE Wednesday.
The private-sector Kashmir Model College Mirpur secured a total of 9 positions out of top 20 positions in entire board. This college also clinched distinction of bagging a total first top four positions out of first top-20 positions.
Unveiling the salient features of the results, Controller Examination (Colleges) AJK BISE Prof. Muhammad Aslam Chaudhry disclosed that a total of 40541 candidates out of a total of 42,007 appeared in the examination. A total of 19979 candidates were declared successful. Thus the overall result of the entire Board remained 49.28 percent. The overall result of regular candidates remained 66.21 percent whereas the overall result of private candidates remained 29.05 percent.
Besides, first top 9 out of total of top 31 positions secured by Kashmir Model College Mirpur, 4 positions were bagged by Govt. Model Science College Muzaffarabad, only two secured by Govt Degree College Rawalakot, four top positions secured by private-sector Punjab College Mirpur, five bagged by private sector Insight Model College, Bhimbher and two secured by private-sector Insight Fatima Tuz Zahra Girls College Kotli.
Among the first top position holding girl students belonging to the pre-Medical group included Ms. Qudsia Irfan d/o Muhammd Irfan, (Roll No. 501145) of Punjab College Mirpur, Saniah Bashir (Roll No 500183) of Government Model Science College Muzaffarabad and Sara Khan d/o Ayub Khan (Roll No 500845) secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions in the entire board respectively by obtaining 1040, 1039 and 1032 marks out of a total of 1100 marks.
Among the first three positions holding boy students belonging to pre-medical group included Mr. Nauman Aziz s/o Abdur Rauf (Roll No 505516) of Kashmir Model College Mirpur, Farrukh Hameed s/o Abdul Hameed Khan (Roll No 505882) of Al-Ghazali College of Sciences, Kotli and Awaiz Latif s/o Muhammad Latif (Roll No 50542) of the private-sector Green Hills Science College Khawaja Muhalla Muzaffrabad bagged first, second and third positions in the entire board by securing 1037, 1028 and 1018 marks.
