Malik sees links between Baloch separatist and TTP

ISLAMABAD- Ex-interior minister Rehman Malik has claimed that there were links between defunct Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Talking to journalists after the Islamabad bombing today, Rehman Malik said that all terrorists across the country were controlled by a single group. He pointed out that TTP spokesman Shahidullah Shah had issued a warning a day before the devastating blast. Malik said that the Taliban had no interest in restoration of peace. They will continue to carry out such oppression unless the government restores its writ in the country, he said.

The former interior minister said that the Taliban were terrorists and that there should be strong action against them. Responding to a question, he rejected the allegation regarding spoiling public money on scanners. He said “I am ready to be hanged if it’s proved that the money was wasted on scanners.”
