Teachers kill student after sexual abuse

KHANEWAL
A private school principal and a teacher have reportedly killed a 5th class student after sexual abuse while the dead body was found buried in the accused’s village.
Police have arrested the school principal. Meanwhile, various student unions, teachers’ unions, lawyers and civil society activists protested after the funeral prayers.
They demanded that the Punjab chief minister should take strict action against the accused and cancel the registration of Missali Zakriya School situated near New Sabzi Mandi Khanewal.
Accused Muhammad Ishaq had called Talah, 12 of Block 2, on mobile phone for some work to the school. When he did not return, his father Arshad contacted with Principal Muhammad Kashif but he failed to satisfy the victim’s father.
Arshad filed a complaint with city police station and alleged that the principal and the teacher had kidnapped his son and his life is in danger. During interrogation, Ishaq admitted that he and the principal had sexually abused and killed the student.
He further confessed that they buried the body near their native village of Muzafargarh. The funeral prayer was offered near Sabzi Mandi with the participation of hundreds of people from all walks of life.
The protest rally was taken out by hundreds of students from different educational institute. They marched on the main roads while they were chanting slogans against the principal, the teacher. Later, they went to the residence of the deceased to condole the sad demise.
All Pakistan Private Schools Association district president Muhammad Aslam Zar, Punjab Teachers Union’s Muhammad Arif Sahu, Mahar Iftikhar Nikyana and religious parties leaders condemned the incident and demanded immediate cancellation of the school’s registration.
They also demanded that the district administration should get possession of the school building because it was constricted with the funding from Punjab Education Foundation.
 According to sources, the incidents of child abuse have also been took place earlier in the same school but no action were taken against the accused by district administration and Education Department. The district administration has temporarily sealed the institute and its associated branches.
