ISLAMABAD- Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Siraj ul Haq, on Saturday, called on the government and PTI to defuse the situation, saying that people of Pakistan were suffering from the prevailing crisis.
Speaking to media persons at the end of National Security Conference here, Sirajul Haq said that the JI maintains a relationship of trust and affection with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
“We were given briefing on operation Zarb-e-Azb by military leadership,” he said, adding that winning hearts and minds of the tribal people was vital to find a permanent solution to restore peace.
The JI ameer said that he gave a proposal to complete the military operation as early as possible. He regretted that only Rs18 billion were allocated for the displaced people of North Waziristan in the current federal budget.
To a question, he said that no deadline was given to end the operation in North Waziristan.
