PM summons high-level meeting on National Action Plan

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif called a high-level meeting on National Action Plan, reported Waqt News. He was briefed about the progress and success of operation in FATA. He was also told that the terrorists have been defeated in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa, now they are turning to other places. PM Nawaz said, “PM Nawaz said that we are in a state of war with an ideology that wants to change our way of life.” Quetta attack was also discussed in the meeting. 

He expressed his resolve that we will make Pakistan secure from every kind of terrorism and extremism. He said the country has embarked upon a right track and we will enable every citizen to reap the benefits of a secure, stable and prosperous Pakistan.

The Prime Minister said that terrorists think that they can sow the seeds of disharmony and disunity in the nation. The nation is united and supports the government to stay on the course of completely eliminating the terrorists from Pakistani society.

He stressed that the government is committed to take all necessary steps to ensure that blood spilled in Quetta carnage does not go waste. The meeting discussed at length the internal security situation of the country and different aspects of the National Action Plan.

The meeting observed that after achieving successful results from operation Zarb e Azb in FATA, terrorists are now changing their targets other than the state institutions out of desperation.

Minster for Interior Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan and National Security Advisor Nasser Khan Janjua briefed the meeting on how terrorist organizations are attacking soft targets.

During the meeting Maryam Nawaz, PM daughter, National Security Advisor of Pakistan Nasir Janjua, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz,  Interior Minister Chaudary Nisar and other politicians were present too.

The meeting was also attended by Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar, Sartaj Aziz and Tariq Fatemi and other senior government officials.

Meanwhile, Awami National Party (ANP) leader Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour called on PM Nawaz at PM House on Tuesday, where issues related to national significance and political situation were discussed. The Prime Minister said that Pakistan is satisfactorily advancing towards a strong, economically vibrant and politically stable future.

This meeting was called in the wake of shooting Balochistan Bar Association president Bilal Anwar Kasi and bomb blast in Quetta’s civil hospital attack, which killed more than 70 people and injured over 130 citizens. The attack was claimed by Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan faction Jamaat ul Ahrar and ISIS.
