KARACHI: A pilot of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Friday refused to operate an ATR aircraft from Karachi to Mohenjo-daro due to a technical fault.
The flight was due to depart for the historic Sindh city from Jinnah International Airport but the pilot refused to operate the flight citing technical reasons, the sources said.
The source quoted the pilot saying that he had to turn off the plane’s engine at Mohenjo Daro, where there was no API facility on the ground to restart the aircraft.
The Auxiliary Power Unit (API) provides power supply for air conditioner and electricity.
The development comes a day after an ATR-42 plane crashed near Havelian town of Abbottabad on way to Islamabad from Chitral, leaving all on board dead.
