KPK health minister welcomes success of Sehat ka Insaf

Terms political propaganda baseless

Peshawar - While welcoming the unprecedented public response and participation in the Sehat ka Insaf campaign, Health Minister KPK, Shaukat Yusufzai has criticised the extremely negative approach by a nationalist political party, which also is a “self-proclaimed guardian” of Pakhtun rights.
The minister informed that Sehat ka Insaf is a comprehensive and well-planned programme for saving the lives and safeguarding the health of all the children of Peshawar. Doing so was also the responsibility of the previous provincial government in which it had failed miserably, and the said party, “after having being rejected by the people is now trying to sabotage a programme which is solely meant for the welfare of the people.” The minister informed that international organisations the world over involve local governments in their mass mobilisation campaigns for ensuring public participation and carryout awareness campaigns in the similar ways as is being done in Peshawar.
The minister thanked the thousands of doctors, healthcare workers and volunteers who are participating in Sehat ka Insaf and who have “already turned it into a historic success” with the coverage of record number of children.
Solid steps to restore peace urged
Staff reporter adds: Expressing concern over the growing lawlessness and acts of terrorism, dozens of workers of Pakistan Rah-e-Haq Party Saturday held a protest demonstration here outside Peshawar Press Club, demanding of the governments to take solid steps to restore sustainable peace.
The protest rally was spearheaded by chief of his own party Pakistan Rah-e-Haq Ibrahim Qasmi and Sheikh Abdul Mohsin started from Asif Baghi Park Nauthia and reached Peshawar Press Club. The protesters were holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans against the deteriorating law and order situations, and demands for success of peace talks with Taliban to restore durable peace. Amid waving party flags, the infuriated protestors chanted their full-throated slogans against the government for failing to give protection to the lives and properties of masses and in favour of their demands.
Addressing on the occasion, the party central chief Ibrahim Qasmi and other leaders of the party criticised both the PML-N-led federal and PTI-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governments for ineffective measures to establish everlasting peace in the country in general and in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA in particular. They also condemned the recent bombings in Peshawar, and fresh spate of terrorism across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in which a number of innocent people were killed. They asked the government to take practical steps against those who were behind these terrorism activities.
They said the peace is eminent for progress and development in the country. The activists of Rah-e-Haq supported the negotiation process with Taliban, and demanded of the govt to be serious and accelerate dialogue process for durable peace in the country.
