Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa (KP) government has fired 16 health workers and doctors under the implementation of Essential Service Act, Waqt News reported. These workers and doctors were on strike.

According to media sources the medical staff at Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar was on strike or absent from their respective duties.

KP government has implemented the Essential Service Act two days ago after the Peshawar High Court Orders.

The KP government and doctors are at loggerheads over the new policies of the provincial government. PTI government is trying to establish an autonomous board over government hospitals.
