Imran predicts N-PPP alliance

ISLAMABAD - Predicting an alliance between PML-N and PPP in upcoming days, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has said that country’s political class lacks wisdom required to understand his vision of politics.
“Today, I am predicting that being supporters of continuation of status quo in the country, they (PML-N and PPP) will reunite soon,” Imran said adding, that both the parties had ruled the country several times but their leaders just focused on how to accumulate more and more wealth for themselves. Imran, speaking at the launch of, ‘Main Aur Mayra Pakistan’, the Urdu version of his book ‘Pakistan - A Personal History’ here at a local hotel, called upon the masses generally and youth of the country particularly, to take future decisions without any fear and thinking beyond own interests.
Imran, clarifying the reasons behind his support for General (r) Pervez Musharraf after 1999 military coup, said he had mistakenly conceived the idea of ‘coalition of reforms’ flouted by military dictator soon after he assumed power unconstitutionally.
“Musharraf had made some tall claims and introduced the idea of coalition of reforms. But later, when I came to know it was coalition of crooks, I decided to withdraw my support,” he said.
“Both of us were interpreting each other wrongly. Musharraf was thinking that I am interested in ministries he was offering at that time, while I was taking him as a reformer,” Imran elaborated. He said it was fear of unknown that persuaded a military dictator to sell the honour and integrity of the whole nation at the hands of the US upon just receiving a phone call.
He made it clear that he would not be blackmailed at the hands of those who were joining PTI. “Everyone is coming to PTI fold after showing his faith in party’s agenda. Only those will be brought forward through party platform, who would abide by party’s defined agenda.”
Imran said, “I think Jihad is a supreme concept, as it keeps society vibrant and alive.” In the same breath he defined Jihad as to remain sincere with the society and to raise voice against injustice without any fear. He said he enjoyed complete faith in what was said by Abraham Lincoln, “You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.”
“The arena of traditional politicians has ended. Today I am predicting that change is in the offing.... indeed it occurred,” he said. He said the political parties’ heads had made mockery of the masses when they, after ignoring the presence of thousands of people in Lahore and Karachi’s PTI rallies, stated that establishment had herd them to the venue. He said Allama Iqbal had given the concept of spiritual democracy for the Muslims. “If we don’t follow the concept of spiritual democracy, the situation will be the same as it is in the West.”

He advised the youth of the country that no one could defeat them until and unless they were willing to accept the defeat. “Don’t fix your goals keeping in mind only yourselves, as this thinking definitely leads to failure and collapse,” he said.
